BE HAPPY THIS SATURDAY!

I am told that happiness is elusive and that most people are simply struggling with the reality of their lives, rushing around too fast to see that there is another way. There is another way...

These are the five things we can all do to be happy...
1. Connect…
With the people around you. With family, friends, colleagues and neighbours. At home, work, school or in your local community. These are the foundations of your life so invest time in building them.
2. Be active…
Go for a walk or a run. Step outside. Cycle. Play a game. Garden. Dance. Exercising releases endorphins which make you feel good. Make sure that you discover a physical activity you enjoy and that suits you.
3. Take notice…
Be curious. Be aware of and catch sight of the joy and wonder in the world. Remark on the unusual. Notice the changing seasons. Enjoy the moment, whether you are walking, eating lunch or simply talking to friends and colleagues.
4. Keep learning…
Try something new. Rediscover an old interest. Sign up for that course. Take on a different responsibility. Learn to play an instrument or how to cook your favourite or a different food. Set a challenge you will enjoy achieving.
5. Give…
Do something nice for a friend, or a stranger. Thank someone. Smile. Volunteer your time. Join a community group. Look out, as well as in and create connections with the people around you.
