WE ARE THE SPECIAL ONES!

"People who value money, power, fame and good looks are less likely to be happy than people who value compassion, cooperation and a willingness to make the world a better place. That astounded me -- but it somehow made sense. People who express their love -- who rejoice in the health and happiness of others -- are more likely to feel loved and happy themselves."
Ed Diener
It's true that excellence doesn't just happen. Command and control and performance related pay won't help because they simply create mediocre outcomes. We must coach, nurture and encourage colleagues to be their brilliant best and achieve outstanding things by helping them find their passions and the things they love.
And it starts with an understanding that everyone has the potential to achieve and we must begin by being compassionate, co-operative and willing to work to help colleagues achieve and simply thinking the best of them. Only then can we raise and stretch our colleagues understanding of their uniqueness, their strength, their potential, their talent and their magic. By appreciating, supporting and caring we can help colleagues overcome the limitations they have imposed upon themselves, and help them see and develop the possibilities and opportunities available to them. Sadly, we live in a world of celebrity where we are led to believe that their are special 'gifted and talented' ones and the rest of us. This simply isn't true! We are all special and great coaches leave a legacy of people who know they are unique, have unique strengths and unique abilities, and, as a result, reach beyond what they believed was possible. The years have taught me that great coaching is a relationship that sees colleagues potential not their limitations. Seeing colleagues at their very best; challenges them to examine their own unique gifts, talents and aspirations and, importantly, holds them accountable to achieve their brilliant best.
