I visited King Edward VII School this morning to meet Jeremy Twyman, assistant headteacher, to talk to him about the Cutlers initiative I am working on.
It was great talking to Jeremy and learning about the work the school has been doing to develop a challenge curriculum in Year 9 where for four eight week blocks students choose to study technology, art or music challenges. Jeremy and the team have also pioneered an Advanced Engineering course in the sixth form linking with Sheffield Hallam University aimed at young people wanting to study engineering at university or take up an apprenticeship or career in engineering.
The school has also had Building Schools for the Future investment and Jeremy showed me their wonderful new STEM centre. BSF is also refurbishing the existing Grade 2 listed building and providing new sports facilities and a re-modelled landscape.

It was great to meet Jeremy whose innovative and thoughtful approach to the things that matter is developing an engaging and powerful curriculum offer at this outstanding school.
